JOB TITLE: Substance Use Counselor
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fee For Service, Part-time, 10 hours/week
SCHEDULED HOURS: Primarily Evenings and Saturdays; hours based on needs of the program
PROGRAM/LOCATION: PTIP East, Willimantic, CT
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: PTIP East
DUI Evaluations and DUI Education Groups (AEP) / Drug Evaluations and Drug Education Groups (DEP) 
Duties & Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide psychoeducation counseling and support to individuals and groups with substance use disorders, utilizing both professional training and personal recovery experience.</li>
<li>Educate clients and their families about behavioral health and substance use disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies.</li>
<li>Coordinate and manage client care with community providers and other referral agencies to ensure comprehensive and continuous treatment in collaboration with the client’s assigned clinician/therapist and clinical team.</li>
<li>Meet all requirements of program contracts, including productivity, caseload management, reporting, and timeliness of client contact.</li>
<li>Perform tox screens, including observed urine screens, oral swabs, and/or hair testing.</li>
<li>Attend training sessions conducted by CHR staff or external consultants as requested or required.</li>
<li>Actively participate as a full member of the treatment team, attending all staff meetings and team meetings.</li>
<li>Perform other duties related to the position as needed.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul></ul>
<ul>
<li>Must have knowledge of substance use disorders.</li>
<li>Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Must be computer literate.</li>
</ul>
Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: Personal experience with recovery and a commitment to supporting others on their journey is highly valued in this role. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with associate’s degree and (1) year experience with a bachelor’s degree working in a setting with individuals with substance use problems.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: C.A.C. or C.A.D.C. preferred.

COMPENSATION*: 
$26.00/hour
*Our per diem and fee for service positions offer a flat hourly rate.
